Who we are

ASSSDE is a national association of professionals from various state agencies and institutions who are responsible for all or part of the various responsibilities involved in the statewide delivery of traffic education services. We meet annually in conjunction with American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association’s (ADTSEA) annual convention.  We maintain professional contact throughout the year through publications, email, and phone conferencing.

ASSSDE exists to assist its membership. Whether it is personal or promotional, logistics or legislative, students or studies, teachers or traffic, our specialized demands are many and varied. Through ASSSDE professional relationships are nurtured, ideas and materials shared, and cooperative efforts launched.

The Broad Scope of ASSSDE

As state traffic education professionals, our actions significantly impact local, state, and national issues relative to driving. These include:

  • The lives hopes and dreams of teens and their parents as impacted by the driving privilege,
  • The training and professional development of traffic education instructors,
  • The establishment and implementation of traffic education policy and procedures,
  • The collection and dissemination of accurate information relative to traffic education and novice drivers,
  • The role the automobile industry plays with novice driver education,
  • And much more!
